Your day at NTT DATA

Provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, complex software, or networked and/or wireless systems.

Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. Reports design, reliability, and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering. May be involved in customer installation and training.

Provides support to customers/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.

What you'll be doing

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical L3/Manager for our managing our Cable Landing Station and SLTE (Submarine Line Terminal Equipment) within the Telecom Network Operating Center. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telecommunications, cable landing station operations, SLTE and network management. This role will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and management of our cable landing station, SLTE, ensuring seamless connectivity and network reliability.

SLTE/Cable Landing Station Operations:

  • Lead the daily operations of the SLTE, cable landing station, PFE, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Coordinate SLTE, cable landing station activities including maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

  • Manage a team of technicians and engineers to ensure the smooth functioning of the station.

  • Implement best practices for cable landing station management and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Network Management:

  • Monitor and manage the connectivity and data flow through the SLTE, cable landing station.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize network performance, Provisioning, bandwidth allocation, and routing and DWDM Equipment monitoring.

  • Implement network security measures to protect against potential threats and breaches.

  • Hands-on experience on Infinera or Ciena DWDM equipments

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to the team in resolving complex network issues and outages.

  • Liaise with vendors, partners, and other stakeholders to address technical challenges and ensure timely issue resolution.

Capacity Planning and Upgrades:

  • Conduct regular capacity assessments and plan for network expansions and upgrades as needed to meet growing demands.

  • Evaluate new technologies and equipment to enhance the efficiency and performance of the cable landing station.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, equipment inventory, and operational procedures.

  • Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and maintenance activities for management review.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of technicians and engineers to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.

  • Set clear performance expectations, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.

Academic Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  • Proven 10+ years of experience in managing SLTE, cable landing station operations within the telecom industry.

  • Strong understanding of submarine cable systems, network protocols, and telecommunications technologies.

  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Problem-solving aptitude and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.

  • Industry certifications such as Submarine system, or Optical Technologies or equivalent are preferred.
